Wire Rope Base Isolator Cable Mount Helical Loop Vibration Shock electronics medical equipment avionics helical cable
The wire rope isolator is constructed by winding wire rope into a spiral shape and securing it between two metal plates positioned along the nut. Its stiffness and damping characteristics are determined by factors such as the diameter of the wire rope, the number of strands, the number of turns, and the winding method and size. This isolator represents a novel type of vibration isolator featuring nonlinear characteristics and dry friction damping.
Utilizing a steel wire rope as the elastic element, it introduces noticeable hysteresis characteristics. The energy dissipation in this isolator results from the friction, extrusion, and slip occurring between the steel wires. The GR3 variant of this isolator exhibits properties like corrosion resistance, impact resistance, and tolerance to high and low temperatures. In photography, GR3 is primarily applied to reduce the impact of sudden vibrations on photographic equipment, aiming to maintain clear imaging and achieve uninterrupted photography.
